The following information explains how to configure Windows XP DHCP settings to automatically obtain an IP address when connected to the ViaSat network.

  1. Close all open applications on your PC
  2. Select the Start button on the Windows toolbar
  3. Select Control Panel from the menu to open the Control Panel window

  4. In the Control Panel window, select Network and Internet Connections to open the Network and Internet Connections window

  5. In the Network and Internet Connections window, select Network Connections to open the Network Connections window

  6. In the Network Connections window, double-click on the Local Area Connection Icon to open the Local Area Connection Properties window

  7. In the Local Area Connection Properties window, select the General tab.
  8. In the “This connection uses the following items:” section, select the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
  9. Select the Properties button to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window

  10. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, verify/select the radio buttons for Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically

  11. Select the OK button to save the changes and close the window
  12. Continue to select OK to close out of all open windows and restart your computer
