Configure Windows XP for DHCP

  1. Close all applications that are active on the customer PC.
  2. Click on Start button on the Windows toolbar.
  3. Select Control Panel from the pop-up menu to open the Control Panel window.

  4. On the Control Panel window, click the Network and Internet Connections text Icon to open the Network and Internet Connections window.

  5. On the Network and Internet Connections window, click the Network Connections text Icon to open the Network Connections window.

  6. On the Network Connections window, double-click on the Local Area Connection Graphic Icon to open the Local Area Connection Properties window.

  7. On the Local Area Connection Properties window, click on the General tab. In the “This connection uses the following items:” field, click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) text Icon, and then click on the Properties button to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.

  8. On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window verify/select the radio buttons for Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically and then click on the OK button to save the changes and close the window.

  9. On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click the OK button to close the window.
  10. On the Local Area Connection Properties Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click the OK button to close the window.
  11. On the Local Area Connection window, click the Close button to close the window.
  12. Restart Computer.
