How to Connect and Provision a Replacement Modem

Summary

This article first describes how to disconnect your original modem and reconnect a replacement modem.  After connecting the replacement modem, the article describes how to activate (provision) the replacement modem to the WildBlue Network.

Connecting a Replacement Modem

  1. Set the replacement modem alongside the original modem.
  2. Move the Transmit cable from the TX port on the original modem to the TX port on the replacement modem. 
  3. Move the Receive cable from the RX port on the original modem to the RX port on the replacement modem.  
  4. Move the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the original modem to the Ethernet port on the replacement modem.
  5. Attach the new power supply to the replacement modem.
  6. Plug the new power supply into the wall
  7. Turn on the computer.
  8. Proceed to the following steps in order to activate (provision) the replacement WildBlue modem.

 

Restart the computer

  1. Restart your computer and the Welcome page zero appears.  (If the above screen does not appear, please launch your Internet browser.)
  2. Click the Click here to Continue button.  The Login page appears.

  3. Type your User ID and Password. Note: Use the username and password used to access your WildBlue email account. AT&T Customers use their AT&T email address as the User Id, and their WBRES account number as the password.
  4. Click Submit.

 

Activating

Reset the modem

  1. Unplug the modem from the power source.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Plug the modem into the power source.
  4. Contact Customer Care if assistance is required.
