Am I required to install the WildBlue Optimizer?

You are only required if you want to have a true WildBlue experience. Manually configuring the proxy is another way to ensure better service speeds.

The WildBlue Optimizer configures your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser so that you receive the highest possible service from the network. If you call Customer Care for help with performance issues, they will require you to install the WildBlue Optimizer or manually configure the proxy at that time.

Note: Actual download/upload speeds depend on many things, and there is no guaranteed level of service.
