Equipment Reboot Procedure
Summary
Use this article to properly reboot your equipment, including your WildBlue modem, your PC, and a third-party router if you use one.
Prerequisites
- Make sure Ethernet cables are correctly connected between the modem and PC, and any 3rd party equipment.
Note: Wireless routers do not require a cable connection to the PCs they support.
Content
- Shut down the PC from the Start menu on the desktop.
- Unplug the router or other 3rd party equipment from the wall outlet.
- If no router is present, continue to step 3.
- Unplug the modem from the wall outlet.
- Wait 2 full minutes with all equipment powered down.
Note: The modem needs 2 minutes to completely power off so that it has a fresh connection to the network when it powers up again.

- Plug the modem back into the wall outlet and wait until it acquires signal.
- The modem is locked to the satellite when the Receive LED (RX, 2nd from the top) remains solid.
- Plug in the router or other 3rd party equipment to a power source.
- If no router is present, continue to step 3.
- Wait 30-60 seconds for the equipment to start up.
- Power on the PC.
- Launch the Internet browser.
- If still unable to browse the Internet, connect the Ethernet cable directly from the modem to the PC and repeat this process.
- If you are still unable to browse the Internet after connecting directly to your PC, contact your Customer Care team for additional assistance.
