Use this article to configure Windows Mail for Microsoft Vista.

  1. A webmail account @wildblue.net must be activated.
  2. Enabling POP3 and IMAP Settings in Wildblue.net

  1. Click Windows Mail from the Start menu. Windows Mail opens.

  3. Click the Tools option at the top of the screen. Then click the Accounts option.

  4. On the Internet Accounts page click Add to begin setting up the account.

  5. Click E-Mail Account from the given options. Then click Next.

  6. In the Display name box, type in the name that you’d like people to see when they receive an email from you. Then click Next.

  7. In the E-mail address box, type in your complete email address including @wildblue.net. Then click Next.

  9. Type pop.gmail.com into the Incoming mail (POP3) server box.
  10. Type smtp.gmail.com into the Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) box.
  11. Click the box next to Outgoing server requires authentication. Then click Next.

  13. Type the username (including @wildblue.net) into the box labeled E-mail username.
  14. Type the account password into the box labeled Password. Then click Next

  16. Click Finish on the Congratulations screen. The Internet Accounts screen appears

  18. Click the correct email account, then click Properties.

  20. Click the Advanced tab on the Properties screen.
  21. Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port number to 465 and check This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
  22. Under Incoming mail (POP3), check This server requires a secure connection (SSL). The port number automatically changes to 995.
  23. Click Apply, then click OK.
  24. Close the Internet Accounts screen.
