Configure Windows Mail for Windows Vista
Prerequisites
- A webmail account @wildblue.net must be activated.
- Enabling POP3 and IMAP Settings in Wildblue.net
Content
- Click Windows Mail from the Start menu. Windows Mail opens.
- Click the Tools option at the top of the screen. Then click the Accounts option.
- On the Internet Accounts page click Add to begin setting up the account.
- Click E-Mail Account from the given options. Then click Next.
- In the Display name box, type in the name that you’d like people to see when they receive an email from you. Then click Next.
- In the E-mail address box, type in your complete email address including @wildblue.net. Then click Next.
- Type pop.gmail.com into the Incoming mail (POP3) server box.
- Type smtp.gmail.com into the Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) box.

Click the box next to Outgoing server requires authentication. Then click Next.
- Type the username (including @wildblue.net) into the box labeled E-mail username.
- Type the account password into the box labeled Password. Then click Next.
- Click Finish on the Congratulations screen. The Internet Accounts screen appears
- Click the correct email account, then click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab on the Properties screen.
- Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port number to 465 and check This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Under Incoming mail (POP3), check This server requires a secure connection (SSL). The port number automatically changes to 995.
- Click Apply, then click OK.
- Close the Internet Accounts screen.
