How long will dial-up access be grandfathered into the Pro package?
Customers who had the Pro service package as of March 1, 2008 are grandfathered for dial-up access as part of their package until they disconnect or downgrade their service. At that time, their grandfathered rights expire.
After downgrading, the customer may add dial-up to the lower package at the normal price. If they upgrade back to Pro, the dial-up service is not part of that new Pro package, but may be added at the normal price.
If the customer reconnects after disconnecting, the dial-up service is not part of the new service unless they add it at the normal price.
An agent can check the grandfather status by logging into the LTech admin tool, and looking for the "grandfathered" checkbox.
It is highly unlikely that an agent will find an account where the grandfathered service is missing; however, if it happens, confirm that the following conditions are true:
- The account was active and current in March, 2008
- The account has never disconnected or downgraded since that time.
Anyone with a Supervisor's LTech login may "re-grandfather" an account if necessary. There is no escalation required.
