Enabling POP3 Settings in Gmail

Use this article to enable POP3 setings within before configuring an email client.

Prerequisites

  1. wildblue.net email address must be activated.
  2. Login to wildblue.net.

Note: Gmail uses the POP3 protocol although it is labled as POP.
Gmailsettings
 
  1. From the Gmail homepage, click Settings in the top right corner.
  2. Gmailpop
  3. On the Settings page, click Forwarding and POP/IMAP
  4. Pop 
  5. In the section labeled POP download, click the radio button next to Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
    Note: Every time you choose Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) and click Save Changes, you will receive all mail including previously read, sent, and downloaded messages in your email client.
  6. Click the dropdown arrow next to "When messages are accessed with POP..."
  7. Click and choose one of the following for the webmail copy of email.
    1. Keep WildBlue Communication's copy in the Inbox.
    2. Archive WildBlue Communication's copy.
    3. Delete WildBlue Communication's copy.
  8. Note: Keeping or Archiving a copy of emails in Gmail is a good idea if you need to access Read messages from another PC.

  9. Click Save Changes.
  10. Configure your email client.
