What are the Minimum System Requirements to Run the Pulse Diagnostics?

Can We Use Pulse to Control Your Computer?

No. It is only a tool that allows WildBlue to diagnose your PC.

Are We Accessing Your Personal Data?

No additional personal information is gathered by Pulse; we only know the information that is already in your account.

Does Pulse Collect Data Regularly Without Me Running a Diagnostic?

No.  Only when you run a diagnostic.

How Do I launch Pulse?

Pulse Launch

To launch WildBlue Pulse, follow these steps: 

  1. Click Windows Start menu.
  2. Highlight All Programs.
  3. Highlight WildBlue Communications, Inc
  4. Click WildBlue Pulse.

What does the Satellite Connections Mean?

The first part of the screen is your Satellite Connection Information:

  • Last Updated: When the information was last updated.
  • Satellite: Which WildBlue Satellite you are connected to.
  • Gateway: A means of connecting the Wildblue Satellite Network with the internet.
  • Beam Number: The beam number in which you were signed.

The second part of the screen is your Satellite Modem Information:

  • Downstream Signal to Noise: Shows how much signal the Satellite Modem is receiving from the satellite compared to noise.
  • Downstream Channel Power: The amount of power going down to the Satellite Modem.
  • Upstream Transmit Power: The signal being sent from your modem back out to the WildBlue network.

What Should I Do Before I Run A Diagnostic to Insure It Runs Correctly?

Close all additional browsers to insure accuracy for your test results.

What Should I Do to Ensure Optimal Performance?

  • Optimizer must be installed
  • Your using a WildBlue supported OS & Browser
  • Up to date Virus protection

How Frequently Does the Pulse Update My Bandwidth and Satellite Connections

Only when you run the diagnostics.

Pulse is Asking for My Account Number, Where Do I Find It?

If you do not have your WildBlue account number, you can use your telephone number or your MAC address instead.

My Account Information is Incorrect in Pulse, How Do I get it Changed?

Contact WildBlue's Customer Care at 1-866-WildBlue.

How Come I Can Not Find the Pulse Icon on My Desktop?

Currently, there is no Desktop Icon available for the Pulse Tool.  To launch the tool after installation,

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select WildBlue Communication, Inc  from the "Programs" drop-down menu. 
  3. Select WildBlue Pulse from the "WildBlue Communication, Inc" drop-down menu.

Do I Need to Disable My Spyware to Install Pulse?

No, you just need to click the "Allow" button to allow Pulse to install.
