Will Running the Diagnostics Impact My Usage Thresholds?

Although running it will contribute to your overall Usage Thresholds, it does not have a significant impact.

How Do I Uninstall Pulse?

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel from the "Setting" drop down menu.
    Result: Your Control Panel Window displays.
  3. Double click the Add and Remove Programs icon.
  4. Locate and click on WildBlue Pulse.
  5. Click the Change/Remove button.
  6. Follow you system instructions from there.

What Does WildBlue Do with My Results?

WildBlue uses the information to diagnose and assist you with speed related issues.  It also help WildBlue monitor its' Network.

Are the Data Files I Send to WildBlue Encrypted?

Yes.

How Do I Run the Diagnostic?

  1. Click the Diagnostics link located in the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the Run Diagnostics button.

How can I Improve My Page Load Times?

Install the Optimizer.

Why Does It take so Long to Receive the Results from Recommendations?

Because of the amount of data that it is validating for your PC.

How Often Should I Run the Diagnostics?

Run as needed.

Can I Run a Diagnostic If I am not Connected to the Internet?

Yes; however, your results may not be accurate and it will only show you your computer diagnostics not WildBlue Networks. 

How Do I Check to See if My Results were Submitted?

The Submit button will be grayed out.

If My Account is not in an Active Status, can I Run a Diagnostic?

Yes, but the results will not be accurate.

What is the Quality Assurance Tool?

It is the Pulse Tool.

Why Does it take 24 Hours to Update My Usage?

Because it does not collect real time date; as a result, it could take up to 24 hours for the correct data to display.

What does the Icons in the Status Bar Mean?

  • Network Adaptor: Enabled or Disabled.
  • My Satellite Connection: Whether you are connect to the WildBlue Network. Green you are and Red you are not.
  • Network Stability: measures the strength of the connection within your network.  For example: from your PC to your Router or Modem.

What is the Last Boot Date?

The last time your PC was restarted.

Do I Need to have the Optimizer Installed to Run a Diagnostic?

Yes.

Why is the Submit Button Grayed Out?

Your results for that specific test has already been submitted.

Why Do we Use those Specific Page Load Sites?

Wildblue needs consistent data so we have our customers use the same commonly used sites.

Does Running WildBlue Pulse Automatically Clear My Computer's Cache and Cookies?

The Pulse tool will automatically clear your browser's history cache but not your cookies. 

Note:  The diagnostics will not be impacted if you choose not to clear your Cookies.

Do I Have to Send My WildBlue Pulse Diagnostic Results to WildBlue?

No.  To change the setting:

  1. Click the Settings link on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click Only on my request radio button.
  3. Click the Apply button.
  4. Click the OK button.

What Occurs When I Run the Diagnostic Test?

First, it gets your Satellite data.

Then, It loads your Usage data.

Third, it scans your computer details.

Fourth, it performs upload and download tests.

Fifth, it checks your firewall details.

Then, it checks for a wireless network.

Next, it checks your local network

Finally, it runs page load tests.

Why Don't We Use a Third party Speed Test Site for the Pulse tool?

WildBlue decided to develop and implement an Internal speed test utility for the Pulse tool to continously evaluate our systems performance.
