Use this article to manually configure Outlook 2007 for Windows.

Prerequisites

  1. Enabling POP3 and IMAP Settings in Wildblue.net
  2. Outlook is installed on the PC.

Content

Create New Account

  1. Launch Outlook 2007.
    Tools Account Settings
  2. On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Account Settings from the menu.
  3. Account Settings New
  4. Click New.
    Add pop
  5. Click the radio button next to strong>POP3, then click Next. The Auto Account Setup screen appears.
  6. Manual config
  7. Check the Manual configure server settings... box, and click Next. The Choose E-mail Service screen appears.

Manually Configure Server Settings


Choose internet
  1.  Click Internet E-mail, and click Next.
  2. User information
  3. In the box next to Your Name, type the name you'd like to see when someone receives an email from you.
  4. In the box next to Email Address, type the complete email address (including @wildblue.net).
  5. In the box next to Incoming mail server (POP3), type pop.gmail.com.
  6. In the box next to Outgoing mail server (SMTP), type smtp.gmail.com.
  7. In the box next to User Name, re-type the complete email address (including @wildblue.net)
  8. In the box next to Password, type in the wildblue.net password.
  9. Click More Settings. The Internet Email Settings page appears.

Configure Outgoing Server Settings


    Outgoing server
  1. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
  2. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  3. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  4. Click the Advanced tab to change server settings.

Configure Advanced Settings

Advanced
  1. Type 995 in the box next to Incoming server (POP3). 
  2. Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
  3. Type 465 in the box next to Outgoing server (SMTP).
  4. Select SSL from the Use the follow type of encrypted connection: list.
  5. Click OK. The Internet E-Mail Settings (POP3) screen re-appears. 
  6. Click Test Account Settings. After receiving the Congratulations! All tests completed successfully page, click Close.
  7. Click Next and then click Finish.
