How to Enable an Ethernet Adapter (NIC) in Windows 7

    This article explains how to configure a network adapter card in Windows 7. Note: Sometimes a network adapter is called a network interface card, or NIC.

    1. SVT has a red value for the Ethernet Interface Status

    Configure

    1. Close all applications that are active on the customer’s PC.

    2. Click Internet Access in the System Tray (right side of the Task bar).

    3. Click Open Network and Sharing Center.

    4. Click Change adapter settings. The Network Connection screen appears.

      W  Ni Networkconnections Lac Enable
    5. Do one of the following:
      • Right-click the disabled WildBlue Local Area Connection. Click Enable
      • Highlight the disabled WildBlue Local Area Connection, and click Enable this network device.
        Note: If the User Account Control window comes up, type the Administrator's user name and password, and click Yes
