Summary

Use the following steps to configure Thunderbird v3.x for windows.

Prerequisites

  1. Enabling POP3 and IMAP Settings in Wildblue.net
  2. You must have an active wildblue.net email address

Content

Account Setup

  1. Launch the Thunderbird application

  2. Click the Create a new account link.

  3. Type your username in the "Your name" field.
  4. Type your email address in the "Email Address" field.  Be sure to include the @wildblue.net.
  5. Type your password in the "Password" field.
  6. Click the Continue button.

  7. Do you want to use the IMAP or POP setting?

Note:  If IMAP is selected, it means that your email messages will be stored on a central server and can be accessed from any computer by you.  If POP is selected, it means that your messages will be stored locally on your computer and can only be accessed using that specific computer.

  • If IMAP:
    • Click in the IMAP radio button to select.
    • Click the Create Account button.
    • Your account is created, end.

  • If POP:
    • Click in the POP radio button to select.
    • Click the Manual Setup button.

    • Select Server Settings located under your newly created account.
    • Type the @wildblue.net in the "User Name" field.
    • Click the OK button.

    • Click the OK button in the alert screen.
    • Your account is created, end.
